This is a kit that I begin building during last year's Supercars GB, it's a half build kit, in bad condition, and lost side mirror as well. F-355 is the first Ferrari that I fell in luv with, it's quite hard to get now days so I bought it over and begin building my first Prancing Horse Paint removing progress with break fluid the paint is too thick, 4 coatings, even my break fluid cannot fully remove it at the end I use gunze thinner to remove most of the paint and then sanded with 400 grid sand paper

There's a new modeler in the community asked me bout steps to build a good car, so for this build, I will explain the basics again. This will basically be an OOB build, due to the number of quantity of stash that I have, I almost gave up super-detailing already, building most of my kits to the "presentable stage" Normally I start with the body first, coz it's the parts that will take most of the time and attract the most attention. Priming is the most important part, after washing the plastic parts (if new kit) and then sanded down any mold lines, I primed the kit to check for any in-perfection most of the time you will fine some areas which you need to re-sand and touch up. for the picture above, I also found that the panel lines is bit too wide mold lines required sanding again dust inside panel lines

Kah Hoe, the following pics will show how i remove the dust in the panel lines, as for the color, RED of course. Same like you, F-355 is the first Ferrari that I know and my dream car as well. Ok, some progress today. after priming, I wet-sanded the kit with 800 grid sand paper the picture shows clearly the "un-evens" of the kit, so priming is a [must] step to build a nice car since this is a rebuild body, I use my custom tool to re-scribe the panel lines, even for a new kit I do this coz with a light scribing, it makes a fine grove for the ink to fill the panel lines so that it wont end up like "longkang" the end result

Huge gap between the rear windscreen and body, the parts not fit as well, not just gaps and not even as well. I cement the parts together and do the filling later using bondite, I fill the gaps and re-do the car body, using "blutac" at the back to prevent bondite goin through sanded smooth after a few times sanding and filling, it ends up like this it's smooth now and will proceed with scribing

Epic WIP, I really get a feel of what it takes to build up a car kit here. All the best for it's resurrection!

clear parts were cut out to polish, I left some sprue so that it's easier for me to handle it when I dip in "Future" later Many scratches in the windscreen deep scratches on the side window wet-sand with 800, 1000, then 2000 wipe clean, bit foggy now polished with TMY coarse compound

while I tried to scribe back the panel lines between the rear windscreen and the body, disaster happened, the clear parts were molded too thin and it just crack and chipped off..... T_T I will not giv up on my kit and here's what I guess will work, using epoxy glue to re-create the cracked parts. 1. Use a masking tape as a stopper to prevent the glue from flowing out Using 10min clear epoxy glue and apply on the back Here's how it looks after curing. thanks for viewing, C&C are always welcome

while dry0fitting the side window, I found more problems, the widow glass not high enough and the "triangle so I decided to cut it and replace with clear plastic sheets after cutting, I found out that the parts is too small, the red areas are suppose to be inside the car body... error on the window door rubber trim as well, it suppose to be in-line with the rear fixed glass and it's too thick.. the side window of the actual car another view when the window glass is down. the problems can still be corrected by scratch building the whole rear fixed glass areas, but this totally killing my building mood. I will never give up on it but will put it aside for the moment. and to keep my fire burning, I decided to divert my focus to the Diablo SV 96' thanks for following this thread and I promise that one day I will revive this thread again. Thanks everyone and sorry for disappointing you all again.
