Building this for the Sengoku GB happening over at the Gunpla Modeler Facebook group.
I really love SD kits but always had mixed feelings on their proportions especially compared to the modern SD iterations to the classic SD style.
The old SD kits had the proportions right; big heads, large feet, but the kits were literally almost statues; the arms could only move up and down.
The modern ones have much more better possibility and movement but somehow the proportions are not to my liking, legs and arms are much longer to accommodate the extra joints and look much now like half dwarf mutants of a gundam. Plus knees. No SD should have knees ever. *shudders*
Here's my attempt at getting the proportions right, I will be giving it arms joints so it will be able to do at least some action poses but I'll be leaving the feet intact.

Looks fancy. One of the main attractions of the musha SD kits in the tons of gimmicks they give. As they were pretty much supposed to be toys they frequently come with spring loaded guns or other fancy stuff.
Saiga Gundam here has the ability to change his face to a monoeye bad guy. I will be showing that ability off later.
First we modify the feet.

These kits are cheap and equally cheaply produced hence the rather poor details here. We'll fix that.

The vernier holes are cleaned out and filled with plaplate backing so we can put in the koto parts...

...Like this.

The arm mods are a totally different beast altogether. Originally in once piece they are separated and a ball joint is installed with the socket in the shoulder and ball in the lower arms.

More updates to come soon, unless I get sidetracked by the resin GB...
