Hi everyone, This is my 1st ever build and I hope i can improve over the advices and conversation with you guys. So sifu sifu tolong tunjuk ajar. 1st Kits, decided to do the Morris Mini 1stStarter tools and materials bought from ICW. Thx Sifu Rayloke, Chee Keen and Simon for the advice and teachingsTest fitting, some gap at the hood area but not too obvious so won't do anything yet since noob hahaha but other than that fititng is perfect, mold lines also have been sanded offTried to scribe the panel lines and seat lines deeper because I felt it was too shallow. Body panel lines was ok, one of the seats was ok but disaster struck, passenger and rear seats turned out horrible, any advices on fixing it? or should I leave it for now?The BodyBody sanded with 1500 then 2000 grit sandpaper, and 3M Sanding sponge Ultrafine for hard to reach places, others sanded too mostly with 3M Ultrafine. All bathed in soapy dishwasher liquid water and now ready for Primer Stage.Thats all for now, will update asap thx! Pls give advices

About a week has passed a lot of progress imo... A few mistakes here and there but nothing serious, Learnt how to use an Airbrush and mixing paints. Body parts primed with Tamiya Suface Primer and Mr. Base WhiteOther parts like engine and stuff all were primed just with Tamiya Surface Primer aloneSteering lacked details, so to add a tad bit of details and realism to it, holes were drilled using drill bit.Final product of the Steering wheel after handpaintEngine main body sprayed and other details handpainted. Assembled the engineChassis, Interior parts and Body parts sprayed in a Darker Yellow shade similar to Lamborghini Yellow. Paints mixed are Gaia Sunshine Yellow, Gaia Pure Orange and a tinge of Mr.Color Black to Darken it.1st mist coat, very very uneven <_< Very very unlucky day, DISASTER!!!! My styrene foam was heavy on 1 side because I put everything on 1 side, so when i went down for lunch, the foam fell and 1 part dropped inside the tray of thinner i use to clean my brush and melted till this unsalvageable stateLuckily though I've got a mate who has an abandoned project of a Morris Mini Cooper too but the racing version, I've checked that the dashboards are the same so I'm going to get the part off him. Tonight will head to ICW and have the 2nd mist coat sprayed on the car body, and also 2nd coats for the major interior parts.

Today around 3pm headed over to my mate's place to get the parts, ended up buying his whole abandoned kit. Might do something special with it in the future  Le replacement part! Nais!Chassis bottom is painted Semi Gloss Black, due to my inexperience in masking, some flaws are visible, will touch up later using hand painting. The body. tones are more even now but not perfectly even as i'd like it to be. This is the last mist coat, will sand it later with 3M Microfine for a bit and then time for a wet coat tommorow night! The replacement dashboard panel after spraying ^_^ One of the seats in two tone yellow-gray colour scheme, I'm quite satified with the masking for this 1 as the lines turned out close to perfectRoof of the Mini sprayed in Gaianotes Ultimate White, 2nd coat. One more last coat after this and its considered doneMini Cooper Racing Rims with better offset and design, plan to use these instead of the standard rim. Now painted Semi Gloss Black as a base for the next coat of Gaia's Star Bright Silver. 1st wetcoat later tonight, after that while the body is left to dry for at least 2-3 days. Will try to complete the interior, chassis and mechanical bits. It's late already, good night peeps!

Saw the progress day after day in icw. Basically i would say things r pretty well done, with proper attention given.
Just some minor imperfection but i think either u can try tackle them of just leave it as a lesson because mostly are not the dominant part in terms of visual.
Gambate bro!

Thx Ray. Think gonna leave it as a lesson. So next time maybe a year down the road I can look back at this project and see my progress as a modeller. Of course this WIP thread serves as a notebook of the mistakes and flaws in this project.

Now now some major progress and a roadblock encountered, read on Plan to do engine wiring aka Spark plug cables using electric wires so holes were drilled on the engine headCables installedAnother view of them cablesI've shown pictures around and comments were the cables for a 1/24 should be smaller. Is this too big for this scale? It's already the tiniest electric wires I can find lol After completion of the engine spark plug cables, flocking was done with light gray flocking powder by Modelling Master. A bit rough and uneven IMO. Flocking is so messy hahaha. My whole room floor from wood color become white covered by the flocking powderTop back portion of the rear seats also flockedAfter that all balance of the interior and mechanical bits all were completed. Painting, cementing and decals were put on their respective parts them. Next, all parts were put together to complete the chassis bit! yay! Front viewEngine bay view. This kit got a bit of fitting issue i think or maybe my mistake? . Look the the radiator hose of the right, big gap from the engine, supposed to be cemented to the engineDashboard viewExhaust piping couldn't fit into its respective holes so the stick on the exhaust pipe were cut off with a modelling knife so that i can cement it straight to the base of the chassis. The green bit connecting to the engine also can't fit nicely, senget a bit Exhaust pipe hole drilled for a more realistic lookRims sprayed with Gaia Star Bright Silver, Love the color! Beautiful! Added a bit of details to replicate black wheel nuts with dabbing the nuts using a pointed tip brush with semi gloss blackAfter everything done, test fitting was done with the unfinished body shellFront view. Fitting wise not perfect. Unparellel gaps between Dashboard and body, also the top of rear seats and body. Overall everything went smooth except the body. Newbie mistake, paint was too thick and sprayed onto body for a wet coat hence a very rough, matte like and dustlike texture on the body. Gonna sand it down with 3M Microfine sanding sponge tonight. *ps. Small water slide decals gave me some nightmares but luckily i was cautious and pulled through with just 1 torn decal which i had the replacement for.... Phew!

Thanks for sharing bro! your flocking powder seems a bit rougher than what i have. hope can see the real thing one day This is what i have: not sure it's due to the volume or the flocking powder is shorter...

While waiting for the body parts to dry for a clear wet coat tommorow, did some decal installing on top of just compounded windscreen. Cooper Car Co. Test fit, found out that decal is placed slightly off center. Ahhh nvm, not too obvious
