My first miniature related kit, which does not belongs me.
First impression when I receive the kit was "how in the world that I'm going to paint this thing!??" after seeing M.J. (Master Jin) & M. K. (Master Kay) did the miniature terrain so nicely within the 6.5 hours. Then, during the building process, I found out that it is quite relatively easy to build because all I need to do is to get rid of the mold line and just make sure that it fits together.
I did came across fitting issue, but that's quite a minor thing to worry about since this is a terrain. So as long as it's not too obvious, it still acceptable. I did noticed however, if I'm using only the cement, the fitting problem could be minimized because the section where I encountered fitting issue I used superglue to glue them together, whereas the rest were fitted nicely with cement. It could be because superglue is creating an extra layer, resulted in the thickening of the surface, whereas cement is melting the surface, so there's no extra layer over there.
As for painting, this is what I did:
1. Airbrushed the whole kit with Mr GX-Black (gloss)
2. Airbrushed the roof with Mr Color Red Madder (mixed with Mr Color Neutraly Gray)
3. Airbrushed the wall with Mr Color Character White (semi gloss)
4. Hand-painted all the details with acrylic color.
5. Dry brushed all the details with acrylic color from lighter tone from the base color -----> more brighter tone.
6. Washed with Tamiya enamel paint.
7. Did some weathering with enamel & pastel.
8. Sealed with Mr Color Super Clear Flat (spray can)
9. Applied some grass (ouch...)
Must admit that my weathering still require more extra effort, and really want to thank Jin for pointing out the place where I need to improve.
In conclusion, this thing is really fun to build, provided it is not to be done hastily.
