Hi all. this is the 1st post of me in this forum. this originally was a GB but i done it late it is my 2nd attempt on the Ma.K~ copper rods are used to detail the small parts. behind the legs drilled some holes for inserting the pipes later. trying to do a open hatch this time. cut off the peg and fill the "holes" with koto parts. trying a new way to do the welding lines by using cement... apparently is failed. it looked like *censored* ok. till next time. C&C is always welcome

skip those boring sanding parts. after done all the detailing, use putty to tap on the surface to make it looks rough. after that is painting part! a layer of red brown as the base coat. follows by a layer of clear red. my intention is to make it looks rusty. but too red already then is the salt and hairspray time! i sprayed a layer of hairspray to stick the salt on it. after the main color. after wash away the salts with water. and then 2nd color (red) and decals are up. this time i think the rust are overkill. next time i will spray a coat to protect the 1st layer before proceeding with the 2nd time salt + hairspray. after that it is washed with enamel paints. now looked too greenish

Pics #6 looks great but along the progress it looks like faltered. Btw, it's a great attempt Chong! Least you got the guts to experiment throughout the finishing! Add oil.....MA.K forever!

Despite the off tone, the weathering looks quite good! Phoon must be salivating in his chair already... ;D

The good thing about heavy weathering is, since the color u r about to express, in real life should be the effects of de-coloration, more layers onto your kit can help on whatever u did wrong initially.....

anything as u think suitable.
i think hairspray a little hard to control ady because u already have part of your surface paint. I suggest u hand paint hair gel for that purpose.
Mostly are washes n painting layers.
