Is almost done. But still got some etching and gloss coat to go. Just to share some of my progress ever since my compressor broken down and fix for 6 months. I didn't get back to modeling but now just to finished it. Is a waste to see it collecting dust.
The conversion kit come from Hobby Design. At first I do worry their photo-etch will be the same as the normal SLR etching, thank god they didn't. Is almost different, at least including the decals and hamann hummingbird badge in etch. This conversion kit is good fitting, only few parts wrap and is easily fixed. There are 3 type of color for this Volcano SLR. White is what the picture on the box art, red and yellow. I like red and red and CF should look alot more aggressive.
The engine. As usual, masking, painting, detail etching and... "look, look, the hummingbird badge..." ;D
The interior is pretty hard to get nice close up photos, but only manage to get some, and other Hamann car interior. Is alittle confuse at first when looking at Hamann and Brabus interior, look alike if you ask me. Brabus only got 1 SLR got the similar interior, or it will be completely red. As for Hamann, is like this most of the time...
Now the fun and also nightmare parts. The CF on bodykits.
I used Studio 27 CF decal, is alot more comfortable to do as the decal actually allow you to stretch abit. The rest I not sure and I also not sure will it be good after clear coating. I would like to try Hobby Design or KA model CF as they are alot more cheaper than Studio 27. Most of the part are pretty easy to apply, except the front bumper. Of course I use masking tape as template, not going to waste any of the CF decal... (is expensive sia~)
Now only left clear coating, and some final detail before fixing everything up. Thanks for viewing...
