Subject: 1/48 JASDF F-15J 2003 Senkyo Hakuryu Kit: Tamiya's 1/48 F-15JDecals: Platz's 1/48 JASDF F-15J 2003 "Senkyo Hakuryu"Started this build on New Year's eve. Fast build but not without issue, despite the kit is Tamiya's. Firstly, the exhaust came with turkey feather; the subject matter don't have this feature. Plus, the kit's exhaust 'burner can' is too shallow. During mating the fuselage, the front end don't mate properly no matter how much I tried to adjust them. As of tonight, here's how much progress I've made. Exhaust are from Hasegawa's F-15; burner cans are swiped from Wolfpack Design Ra'am conversion set.. Test fit the modified exhaust.

Thanks, Phoon . Nothing like spending the weekend working on PE parts. 15 individual mechanism and 15 actuator rods on each nozzle. Once finished, here'show the nozzle looks like.

Compressor humming and handpiece hissing. Painting begins... Since my primer stock is running low, I'm forced to spot prime my build. I only apply primer to areas which requires extensive putty work. Looks like another round of sanding here... Done some painting on the exhaust nozzles too. Need to pick out the details to highlight the actuator rods. Looking forward to major painting session this week.

Preshade and a coat of 308. Still got some imperfection <_< . Highlight the actuator rods with gold. Another round of 308 + 307 ghost camo. Let it set for a few minutes and the a coat of gloss clear. The gold on the actuator rods are toned down with steel. Test fit to get some mojo for tedious decal session. Pilot painted. Definitely not my best work .
