Kaze no Tani no Nausicca~~~~ To contribute to this Aviation GB, I plan to put in this Gunship from the Valley of the Wind, one of my favorite anime, erm... when i was young. This kit is a reissue of Tsukuda Hobby by Bandai with new tooling and improved panel line. Test fit to check my fitting and planning... Interior and pilot primed with Tamiya Surfacer. Ready for painting!

Another marathon for me last night while waiting some server changes from my staff.... Interior painted! Was about to call it a day after painted the interior... got myself divert to the P-51D cockpit... Originally was supply with decal... look to fake it using the decal. Some correction and with PE parts... Looks better? OK OK, back to my gunshp After done painting the interior, I attach both half of the fuselage and putty work started. Sanding... and more sanding...*Oh, I hate this...* Preparing the masking tape for masking, a little hints here, the smaller the masking tape, the more easy you get this work done. Masking done... Close up More closer... I started luaghing when I saw this... Well, the masking job took me for approximate 1 hour. Priming done with Mr.Surfacer1000 *another one and half hour gone* And... to be continued!

Painting[/u] The Technique I gonna share here is call Color Modulation. I airbrushed the Base color with Vallejo Model Air Color. Dont use the color straight from the bottle even a lot of review told you so, add a few of windex, set your compresor to only 10~12 psi, spray it slow and with patient. After the base color dried, I airbrush the First light. For this first light, I only airbrushed on the flat surface, visible spot and the raise part. Take a look on the photos.... Some correction need to be done before proceed to stage two, cause the first light was overspray on some parts. To be continued.

Becky, for this modulation, i will use 5 colors. Its like layering technique in figure painting, just that i m using air brush this round. Will post more photo later to make it more easy to understand.
Geno, yeah the masking took me 2 hours... i redo my masking aster my priming cause some tape peel off. I was thinking of stuff tissue paper, but there is figure in each cickpit and the hole is too small.

so thid technique u using, doesn't need shading..? it really look nice tho... Instead of using darker color, like black or brown to pre-shade or smoke for post shading, I'm using the modeulation of a color to done the shading. Thanks for the nice words!
