The Mitsubishi Zero fighter is my choice for this GB. Always had been fascinated by Mitsubishi Zero 6M2~5 and the Nakajima Hayabusa Ki43. So the Zero is my natural choice for this GB. My WIP is in completed sections photos, as I am a bit lazy to photoshoot every single step.. This is my first time building a plamo plane, i hope, you guys can forgive my noobieness.. Cockpit progress The base paint is Gaia light stainless + flat base to get the aluminium color, top coat , gunze nakajima interior green with chipped paint method. The kit comes with water decal for the seatbelt, which, I think will not be realistic enough if applied to the weathered cockpit. so I decided to build one... I used soldering wire for this, hammered to achieved the flatness I wanted, The cloth pattern on the belt is created by clamping the lead wire with a flat file. the lines and and sewing seam marks are hand scribe and dotted with a pointed scriber. The Buckle is made with copper wires. After painted with Vallejo Tan Yellow. Did a wash with enamel brown+ german grey to the shoulder belt to check the color blending with the cockpit. the belts on the seat are not done yet The Side control panels Fuselage assembly with seamline filled and details rescribed and dotted with a scriber. Main cockpit installed The Engine Added some details to the front part of the engine with copper wires. The Engine Cowl cover Used dissolved putty and apply to the cowl plating area to create the aluminium plate sag , which is very distinctive in most WW2 aluminium bodied planes.

Progress..... Creating the Aluminium warping effect on the wings and fuselage, by using ultra fine red putty, thinned down with retarder and thinner. The left wing after being primed. Plate warp/sag on the fuselage.

I just had a look at some pictures of aluminium warp/plate sag... Some were pretty extreme. I'm guessing you're not going to go quite as far as that. Looking good so far!
