Hello everybody, this is my second car model kit. As you can see it is a Vintage series of Aoshima. The Legendary S30z a.k.a Datsun Fairlady 240zg made famous by of course the anime Midnight Wangan which features the Blue Devil Z but that was the 240Z variant and this is the 240ZG but ultimately ithey are both practically the same car with slightly different bumpers and etc etc. As you can see I got this kit from Fita hence it comes with an extra set of rims which is the 15" SSR Mk.II with Hipari Tyres.
I didn't post any WIP long time since my last because I was doing Gunpla. Now that my Gundam is nearing completion hence I start this WIP thread. Sometimes while waiting for my Gundam's paint to cure so I take that opportunity to work a bit on this Z. Here Goes!
On box art it shows rivet holes on the fender but on the bodyshell the holes weren't present so used drill bit to make the holes
If you look at other 240ZG or Rtuned's WIP on this same kit as well, you will notice that on the rear quarter panel originally it has a Z kind of emblem/badge, I felt the sticker they provided was kinda fake with the molded on detail, so I chose to grind and sand it away to make it flat like some real cars ive seen on google
Normally car mokits have like a little nip ple to replicate the keyhole for the vehicle but i cut it off and sand it flat, will replace it with keyhole Metal Transfer to add more realism to this kit
You can see here i opt to use an aftermarket wheel which is a set of Dished 15" SSR Formula Mesh and not the Mk.II's or the RS Watanabe's. The holes to mount it seemed a bit too large so the holes is filled with Super glue. When its dried, the holes are drilled again to achieve a tight fit
BMF time (CHROME)!
Rear bumper kononnya was BMF'ed to achieve that chrome effect
BMF Time again (Ultra Bright Chrome)
Side mirrors done by it to replicate side mirrors! Duhhh
This car sports a rollcage inside but seats are stock?Come on. This aftermarket seat will be the replacement for the stock seats only for the driver side
Rollcage BMF'ed too with Ultra Bright Chrome variant. Purposed un-neat BMF work to replicate welds on the joints
And Finally the Pirelli tyres are sanded on 180 sandpaper and then 1500 to smoothen it out a bit for the used effect. Left is brand new, and right is the one after sanding
This is all for now, won't be updating till I finish my Gundam hopefully by this week so for now hope you enjoy and have a nice day!
p.s. Car colour this time will be " Makkuro" which means Pitch Black, Wheels as well! kthxbai
